Sporting Charts explains Hitting For The Cycle

Hitting for the cycle is a relatively rare occurrence in baseball with less than 300 ever being recorded in MLB history (293 as of 2011) and is often cited as one of the most difficult feats for an offensive player.

The most cycles hit by a player over their career is 3, which has been done by a total of just three players including John Reilly, Bob Meusel and Babe Herman. The natural cycle has only been completed 13 times in history.
