Line Drive

What does Line Drive Mean?

A type of batted ball that his hit with power with a trajectory that is fairly level throughout its path. Line drives have a lower trajectory than fly balls and usually stay within the field of play but can, in some stadiums, reach over the outfield wall for a line drive home run.

Also referred to as a "Liner" or "Frozen Rope."
