Center - C
What does Center - C Mean?
A defensive player who lines up in the middle of the defensive line in front of the quarterback and is responsible for snapping the ball to the quarterback each play. Centers will often also be responsible for any line adjustments required depending on what the defense is showing and will take on blocking assignments after the snap.

For centers, it's vital that they get the snap off cleanly to the quarterback so as to start the offensive play without issue. Their blocking assignments vary depending on whether it is a run play or a passing play.
