What does Division Mean?
There are a total of eight divisions in the NFL: four in the National Football Conference (NFC) and four in the American Football Conference (AFC).

The latest division realignment in 2001-2002 has given us the current divisional layout. The divisions in both the NFC and AFC are titled North, South, East, and West.
