What does Flood Mean?

This is an offensive strategy in football in which an offense tries to outnumber the defense by placing more players in one area of the field than the defense can cover.

This strategy works against mainly zone coverage defense, because they are not allowed to leave their particular zone of the field. Flooding gives an offense an opportunity to take advantage of the outnumbered defense.
