What does Freeze Mean?
The act of holding the ball for as long as possible, without scoring or turning the ball over to the opposition.

When leading in a football game, teams will try to hold the ball and run out the clock in order to secure a win. When the Green Bay Packers got the football back from the Pittsburgh Steelers in the 2011 Super bowl, they had to run 49 seconds off the clock to secure the win.
