Yards after the Catch (YAC) - 2006 NFL Season

This statistic measures the yards gained after a pass is caught by a receiver. The "yards after the catch" are the yards the receiver runs until he is either tackled down, run out of bounds, scores, or losses the ball.

Players with a high percentage of YAC compared to their total receiving yards are usually running backs, they get the short "screen pass" or "dump pass" and run for the remaining yards.
