A Look at NBA Daily Fantasy for February 7, 2015

What did we learn last night? Russell Westbook is still a monster even when Kevin Durant is back in the lineup. He put up an amazing 80.3 FanDuel points (7.17x) - which is the highest level hit by a player this season.

It was a pretty crazy night overall and it took some pretty big numbers to win. Looking ahead to today's slate it looks to be a bit calmer but you never know when it comes to daily fantasy.

Steven Royalty, our resident NBA expert, is out for today so I'll be putting together a quick recap of the players to take, consider, and avoid. Make sure to give Steven a follow on twitter as he tweets out some great tips/advice. Lets jump into it...

NOTE: we just released a brand new tool for NBA daily fantasy which gives a complete breakdown of each player from a value perspective including averages, ranges, risks, and more! Check it out our NBA Daily Fantasy Value Tracker!

Usually, I don't go with two value guys at PG but today the big three PGs have some issues that make me hesitant to go all-in on any of them. John Wall hasn't had great success vs. Brooklyn this season putting up 26.6 and 30.2 FanDuel points. While I'll be rolling with Stephen Curry in a few lineups, as he is easily the best PG of the bunch, there is blowout risk as the Golden State Warriors are 14.5 favorites over the New York Knicks. Jarret Jack is also worth a look as the Washington Wizards have given up the 5th most points to PGs over the last 10 games. Damian Lillard hasn't hit 5x value in his last 15 games and has gone 5x in just 26% of his games this season - with a tough matchup this isn't a great spot for him. Barea and Smart are two low budget guys that have been playing hot right now - Barea has hit 5x three straight with Rondo out and Smart has 4 straight of 5x.

Shooting Guards

Take

Consider

Jimmy Butler is the best of the bunch tonight at shooting guard and figures to be in for a solid matchup against the New Orleans Pelicans - the last time he played the Pelicans he put up 48 FanDuel points (5.3x). Giannis Antetokounmpo has been on fire lately with six straight games of 4.5x - he has a decent matchup tonight against Boston and he is still a solid value. Joe Johnson and Klay Thompson should also be considered but have a couple issue. Klay with the blowout risk and some weaker games recently. Joe Johnson is consistent at bringing 4x but doesn't have a great ceiling.

Small Forwards

Take

Gordon Hayward is likely the play here as he has a great matchup vs. the Sacramento Kings who have given up the second most points to SFs over the last 10 games but he is a bit of a boom-bust type of player. Batum, Henderson, and Middleton are all decent plays to consider to fill in your lineup. I'm avoiding Rudy Gay, who is too expensive for what he brings, and Draymond Green, who has a very tough matchup in the New York Knicks who have given up the second fewest points to SFs in the last 10 games.

Power Forwards

Take

Consider

Avoid

Anthony Davis is a beast and is hard not to feature in your lineup when he is playing and he put up 56.2 FanDuel points last time he played Chicago. Pau Gasol is up against Anthony Davis which puts his value down for me. Derrick Favors and Jared Sullinger are great value plays as Favors is 7th among all PFs in per game value this season while Sullinger is 3rd.

Centers

Take

Consider

I'll be rolling with Tyson Chandler in most of my lineups as he has been hot of late when it comes to bringing value - 3 of the last 4 were 5x+. If you can fit in DeMarcus Cousins, it is a solid move as he is the best in the league but does have a tough match in the Utah Jazz who are second against centers this season.
