Four-Point Play

What is Four-Point Play?

An offensive play in which a player makes a three-point field goal while being fouled. Because the player is in the act of shooting, the three-point field goal counts and the player is rewarded with one free throw. Making the free throw attempt completes the four-point play.

Sporting Charts explains Four-Point Play

Four is the greatest number of points a player can score in one play, but it happens very rarely in basketball. Atlanta Hawks combo guard Jamal Crawford holds the NBA record in career four-point plays with 28.
