What is All-star?

An elite player, chosen as a representative to participate in the annual Skills Competition and All-star game. 6 of these 42 players are chosen by fans (three forwards, two defensemen, and one goalie), and the remaining 36 are named by NHL Hockey Operations.

The most represented all-star in NHL history is Gordie Howe, having participated in 23 All-star games, notching 10 goals and 9 assists, while racking up a record 25 penalty minutes.

But perhaps the greatest All-star achievment in history was the Great One himself. Wayne Gretzky who in 18 All-star games had 13 goals and 12 assists, for a record 25 points.
