Attacking Zone

What is Attacking Zone?

Also known as the offensive zone, the attacking zone is the area of the ice beyond the opposing team's blueline. An attacking zone consists of two face-off circles, one on either side of the attacking zone, and the opposing team's net.

Sporting Charts explains Attacking Zone

A team tries to maintain puck possession in the attacking zone by playing their defensemen just inside the blue line and by playing the puck deep into the zone. Generally, the more a team controls the attacking zone, the higher the likelihood of winning the game.
