What is Oddsmaker?

This is the equivalent of a linemaker or handicapper.  This is the individual responsible for establishing the original betting lines as well as any updates necessary.

Sporting Charts explains Oddsmaker

An oddsmaker is a very important part of any sportsbook or bookmaker operation.  The best oddsmakers typically work for big sportsbooks located inside casinos in Las Vegas and other gambling centers.  Their job is to set a line which attracts an equal amount of action on each side of the line.  They use all sorts of information to create and move their lines, including: winning percentage, past betting history, previous betting lines, betting lines at other sportsbooks, current win/loss streaks, etc.  A good oddsmaker spends a lot of time doing research to ensure they publish the right line, and unless something unexpected happens, they are usually right on target.  To ensure the best, most attractive lines to bettors, some of the biggest sportsbooks employ multiple oddsmakers.
