This includes all batted balls in play, meaning it does not matter if they resulted in a hit. These players are likely to be power hitters who hit a fair share of home runs, and also are going to have higher strikeout rates than the average hitter. Since fly balls are a batted ball type that do not frequently result in a hit these players do not usually hit for a very high average. Those who lead the league in fly balls percentage typically come close to have a 60% fly ball percentage.
