More about Team At Bats Per Game Leaders
Not a widely used statistic, in the current run-scoring environment in baseball the average team makes it through their lineup nearly four times. Teams at the top of this list are more likely to score a lot of runs (thus obtaining more at bats). The difference between the teams at the very top and very bottom of this list is not all that great – only about two at bats on average. Part of the reason for this is that teams that score a lot of runs (and thus come to the plate more) are also going to get fewer at bats the more games they win at home, since they would only come to the plate in eight innings if they did not win in walkoff fashion.
