Team errors per game measures the actual number of errors a team commits in each game.
More about Team Errors Per Game
While errors still have some usefulness, there are an increasing number of metrics that take into account more than just errors when judging defensive play. Looking only at errors when judging a team’s defensive ability does not take into account the defensive range of the team as a whole. For example a team full of players with limited defensive range will not get to as many balls, and thus will not be charged with as many errors, though they may still not be a very good defensive team.
