Team Hits Per Game: 2015 MLB Season

Team hits per game is simply as the statistic states – the average number of hits a team gets in a single game.  Fans who go to baseball games are likely to see this number as part of the standard R/H/E (Runs/Hits Errors) that shows on scoreboards in every stadium.  However, other than on stadium scoreboards this is not a common statistic used across the game.  It does not take into account the number of batters who reach base via a walk and also does not take into account extra base hits, which are much more likely to lead to runs than singles.
