Team strikeouts per walk is the number of strikeouts an offensive teams accumulates for every walk earned. The lower the better for any offensive team, though that can be achieved in multiple ways: 1) low overall strikeout total, or 2) high walk total.
More about Team Opponent Strikeouts Per Walk
The number of strikeouts per walk has skyrocketed in recent years. In 2013 just a single team had a ratio under 2; in 1993 22 teams had a ratio under 2, and as recently as 2008 exactly half of baseball teams had a ratio under 2. Furthermore, in 2008 the team with the highest ratio (Kansas City) had a ratio of 2.56 whereas in 2013 the Houston Astros (admittedly an extremely poorly performing offensive team) had a whopping ratio of 3.60.
