More about Team Strikeouts Thrown Per Walk Allowed

Due to an increase in strikeouts recently and not much of a change in the number of walks allowed over the same time period, this ratio has gone up for the average pitching staff. The leaders are equally likely to come from either National or American League pitching staffs. To show how much this statistic has changed in recent years, in 2009 the leading pitching staff had 2.35 SO/BB; in 2013 there were three different teams with SO/BB ratios over 3 with the leading staff at 3.09.
